October 17 - Can't Stop Squeezing
Again, from the department of “Sometimes the most simple device is also the best,” comes the Grip Pro Trainer, (www.gripprotrainer.com). Dubbed a “Finger, hand and forearm strength and endurance training device,” the Grip Pro feels like no other squeezable hand-strengthener out there.
Have you ever tried the metal spring devices with handles? How about a squishy ball? I’ve owned both, and found I got bored with them within the first day of using them. But the Grip Pro sits on my desk and gets squeezed day in and day out. You can feel the balanced resistance the solid rubber ring provides working muscles north and south of the wrists. It also alleviates stress during the work day.
The Grip Pro comes in 3 different levels of difficulty: Green-30lb max resistance (easier)-for lighter weight people and warming up, black-40lb max resistance (medium), and red 50lb max resistance (difficult). I’ve tried all three and if you’re a strong guy in decent shape you may as well go with red, but the black ring is plenty challenging as well.
So squeeze it until it hurts. Strong hands and forearms will tremendously improve your golf, baseball, basketball, tennis and hockey games. Or, maybe you’ll be satisfied just seeing that little glimmer of fear in your boss’s eyes next time you shake his hand.
