July 27 - All the Help You Can Get

Research shows that 43% of strokes in an average round of golf are putts. For me, that’s like 60 putts. But for someone who has a game and wants to improve their putting, you can practice, you can take lessons, or you enter the high-tech world of DiXX BLU by Adams Golf (www.adamsgolf.com).

DiXX BLU is a space-age putter that analyzes and tracks the three key elements of a successful putter swing: path, impact position and face angle. It collects data and stores the statistics so you can review putting habits and trends.

Available in either straight-back-straight-through putting path or arc path, mallet or blade style, golf fanatics can select Pro Mode or Standard Mode depending on their skill level.

How does it work? Utilizing an Inertial Navigation System (INS), the DiXX BLU can identify the putter's face position in relation to the ball at impact and immediately displays the information on the vibrant color LCD. Additionally, a Micro Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) monitors several key factors of the swing motion including path and hand vibration levels.

The DiXX Putter can capture data from every swing that can be analyzed later in increments of 10 putts and 30 putts and shows the pattern of 10 putter swings. You’ll be able to track the line of the takeaway and follow-through as well as the different angles (close, square and open) hit at impact of the swing. And it displays the number of impact hits at the toe, sweet spot and heel.

So if 43% of the strokes in your round add up to less than 43, if golf is not your hobby but an obsession or if you’re just a person who can’t get enough computer data and analysis, the DiXX BLU might be for you. But one thing to consider: If the other guys at the club see this in your bag, you’d better not be missing any four-footers.
